Rush's fourth studio album is titled 2112. This collection includes the original album, which was remixed at Abbey Road Studios, five recently released covers by Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nick Raskulinecz, Billy Talent, Steven Wilson, and others, as well as live Rush recordings from 1976. Hugh Syme's brand-new artwork is featured, along with Rob Bowman's in-depth liner notes.
The album's seven-part title suite, which was written by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson and featured lyrics by Neil Peart telling a dystopian tale set in 2112, was released in April 1976. Even though the songs on the second side have nothing to do with the suite, it is occasionally referred to as a theme album.
