AC/DC formed in Sydney by Scottish brothers Angus and Malcom Young back in 1973 and proceeded to take over the rest of the globe with the bands debut LP High Voltage. Is it rock & roll? Hard rock?? Blues rock??? Cock rock???? Doesn’t matter, because these dudes have become so synonymous with what rock music means to the world that they might as well be the dictionary definition. To put it another way, it's impossible to imagine a world that exists without AC/DC. You may have your preconceived opinions because you’ve heard “TNT” or “Highway To Hell” sung by one too many drunken doofuses at one too many sporting events, but this music will break through your snotty stereotypes. Let go and let God (or, in this case, Angus Young’s riffs).

After AC/DC’s lead singer Bon Scott tragically died of alcohol poisoning in 1980, the band found themselves at a crossroads. The group elected to continue (with the blessing of Scott’s family) with a new frontman named Brian Johnson - a wily Englishman who embodied Scott’s ripper spirit and somehow achieved even greater and wider success, releasing records like; Back in Black and For Those About To Rock, We Salute You. The band’s continued influence in spite of losing Scott proved the talent and chemistry by the Young brothers. Moreover, the band’s dynamic energy has allowed them to create an almost mythic style that we’re yet to see repeated. We salute them, and you should too.
